It is not a good experience to find that you have rodents in your home. You can actually see a rat or a mouse, but you may also have started to see fecal pellets, and either situation is not pleasant. Other than not being a good experience, rats and mice can be dangerous to have in the home. The fecal pellets of rats and mice can carry diseases and viruses. Also fleas on some rats can also carry terrible diseases. You want to make sure that you and your family are as safe as possible. If you have found that your home is infested with mice or rats, it is time to do something about it.

Call A Professional

If you find that the problem is truly out of control, it would be wise to call a pest control company like Xtermco Inc to come take a look at the home. Pest control technicians understand the differences between mice and rats and know the best ways to get rid of them. They will most likely find the home of the rodents and start there. If a technician comes to your home, do not be surprised if they spend a good amount of time looking around the home for signs of the rodent. Once they find the rodents home, they will start putting poison out. These technicians are very good at killing unwanted rodents.

Set Your Own Traps

You can also set your own traps to try and eliminate some of the rats or mice. Many people do not realize that there is a specific way that you should set a rodent trap. It is very important that you set the trap perpendicular to the wall. This is because if the trap is set parallel to the wall, then there is a good chance that the rodent will be able to take the bait without stepping on the trigger. If the trap is set perpendicular then the rodent will have to step on the trigger.

Poison

Poison is another very effective way to kill rodents. In fact, it is one of the very best ways to get rid of rodents. If you decide to poison the rats or mice, it is a very good idea to use the strongest poison available and to make it hard for the rodent to leave the area. You do not want the rodent to go and die inside the wall or where it is tough to find.
